ABOUT ME
MICHAŁ CIECHOMSKI
I am a graduate of Film Directing at the Krzysztof Kieślowski in Katowice and Aviation and Cosmonautics at the Warsaw University of Technology. I have been awarded and nominated many times at the largest Polish and foreign festivals, such as: EnergaCamerImage, Warsaw Film Festival, Krakow Film Festival, Młodzi i Film in Koszalin, Moscow Shorts or the Gdynia Film Festival. The film "Miłość" was taken under the care of the Krakow Film Foundation in 2020, thanks to which it gained the opportunity for wider foreign promotion. I was one of the two directors of the documentary White Chief in production.
An international film set in Europe and Africa co-financed by the Polish Film Institute and the European Media Group. So far, I have had the opportunity to work on the set with leading Polish directors such as: Filip Bajon, Władysław Pasikowski, Krzysztof Zanussi, Maciej Pieprzyca, Andrzej Fidyk, Marcin Koszałka, Bartek Konopka and Jan P. Matuszyński. Thanks to this, I was able to gain the practical ability to work on the set. Most of the directors mentioned above have conceptually assisted me in creating all my short fiction and documentaries.
I am a Papaya Young Directors laureate of the 2018 edition, a competition aimed at young filmmakers.
I was also a video producer and assistant director on a large theatrical project "Es war einmal ... das Lebe" at the Schauspiel Staatstheater theater in Hanover, dir. Łukasz Twarkowski.
