Alain, who is a short middle-aged French, works as a keeper at the apartment complex located in Cote d'Azur in Monte Carlo. His life would probably be a monotonous performance of his simple duties if he did not married a Cameroonian woman, Chantal, as a result of which he inherited the role of 'the first son” – somewhat the ruler of the village, from his African father-in-law. Alain receives calls from Cameroon concerning investments in cocoa plantations, migration to Europe, marriages approval, or tribal conflict resolution. He verifies decisions made this way every two years during direct visits in the village in Africa. One of these trips will be the main plot of the movie.
